What a Tour Cannot Show

A tour can show you the environment and start a useful conversation. However, it remains a snapshot. It cannot fully show how your child may respond after an hour, how educators guide an ordinary disagreement, how routines unfold or how relationships feel across a real morning.

For that reason, Believe Playschool created the Free Childcare Experience Sydney families can use for deeper observation. For families with children aged two to four, the experience gives more time and less guesswork.

A childcare tour Ultimo visit may be all you need. Alternatively, you can use the tour as a first look and then return for the longer experience before making your enrolment decision.

Free Childcare Experience Sydney Families Can Attend in Person

Brochures, websites, tours and awards only tell part of the story. Our Free Childcare Experience Sydney families can attend invites you to spend a real morning inside Believe Playschool and see what the centre is actually like while it operates.

The experience is for children aged two to four years. In addition, it runs every Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and a parent stays for the entire three-hour session.

During the morning, children can explore, create and connect through play-based experiences, interactive group activities and shared moments with other children. They also join us for lunch. Meanwhile, parents can observe how their child settles and engages, and see how educators guide learning, behaviour and relationships.

Families can attend more than once. Where another visit would be helpful, they may attend the Free Childcare Experience Sydney session again, subject to registration and available places.

After Enrolment: Play Dates Before the Official Start

The Free Childcare Experience helps families decide whether to enrol. Once a family has enrolled, however, the next stage changes: we encourage Play Dates before the child’s official first day.

Most families attend Play Dates over two or three days, although there is no set limit. Meanwhile, a parent stays with the child for a couple of hours while the child explores the environment and begins building familiarity without also having to manage separation.

Just as importantly, the parent can share the small but important details that help educators know the child: habits, likes and dislikes, communication, routines, sleep, food preferences, toileting, sensitivities, interests and how the child is best soothed or reassured.

What You Can See at Believe Playschool

Believe Playschool provides education and care across Nursery, Toddlers, Tweenies and Preschool. During a visit, therefore, families can see the spaces children use across the day and discuss how those environments relate to their child’s age and stage.

• Nursery, Toddler, Tweenies and Preschool environments;
• large indoor play areas;
• outdoor play areas;
• learning materials and room organisation;
• arrival and collection access;
• parking and lift access;
• the general flow of an ordinary childcare day.

Preparing for Your Visit

You do not need to arrive with a formal checklist. However, sharing a few details in advance can make the conversation more useful.

• your preferred start date;

• any important medical or dietary information;
• anything about development, communication or family circumstances that may affect the child’s experience;
• the questions you most want answered before choosing care.

Importantly, parents are welcome to ask difficult questions. Is there pressure to enrol after the experience?

No. Families can ask questions, review availability or take time to decide.

What happens after we enrol?

Before the official start date, we encourage families to attend Play Dates. These usually occur over two or three days, but there is no set limit.

Is parking available?

Yes. Families can use free undercover parking, with lift access to the centre foyer.
