Our Values and Partnership With Families

BELIEVE PLAYSCHOOL CHILDCARE ULTIMO

At Believe Playschool childcare Ultimo, our values shape everything we do. They guide how we care for children, how we work with families, and how we make decisions each day.

We believe that children thrive best when the adults in their lives are aligned, consistent and working together. For this reason, our service is built on a strong partnership between educators and families, with shared expectations and mutual respect at its core.

A Shared Commitment to Children’s Development

Believe Playschool is a place where education, care and wellbeing come together intentionally. We support children to grow into confident, capable, respectful and emotionally resilient individuals.

This happens when:

  • children feel emotionally safe
  • expectations are clear and consistent
  • routines support regulation and wellbeing
  • adults model respectful communication
  • learning is intentional and developmentally appropriate

Our educators take a proactive role in guiding children’s behaviour, emotional development and social skills. We do not take a passive approach to care, because children thrive with thoughtful, informed support.

Educators and Families Working Together

Parents are a child’s first and most important educators. At Believe Playschool, we value families who want to work collaboratively with us to support their child’s development.

This partnership includes:

  • open, respectful communication
  • trust in professional educational guidance
  • shared strategies between home and care
  • consistency in language, routines and expectations
  • active engagement in a child’s learning journey

When families and educators work together, children benefit emotionally, socially and developmentally. They feel secure, understood and confident in both environments.

Consistency Matters

Children feel safest and most confident when expectations are consistent. For this reason, we place great importance on alignment between home and care wherever possible.

Consistency supports:

  • emotional regulation
  • positive behaviour
  • confidence and independence
  • social competence
  • a strong sense of belonging

We work closely with families to support children through transitions, challenges and developmental stages using shared language and agreed approaches.

Health, Wellbeing and Respectful Behaviour

The wellbeing of children is central to our values. All of our policies and practices are guided by independent research and best-practice recommendations.

This includes:

  • clear expectations around respectful behaviour
  • a strong focus on emotional regulation and social responsibility
  • nutrition practices that support health and wellbeing
  • rest routines that support brain development and regulation
  • the use of plant-based, non-toxic cleaning products, creams and sunscreen

We believe these foundations are essential for children to feel safe, healthy and ready to learn.

Not Every Service Is the Right Fit — And That’s Okay

Believe Playschool is a values-driven service. Because of this, we may not be the right fit for every family — and we are comfortable with that.

We are best suited to families who:

  • value emotional development and self-regulation
  • support consistent routines and expectations
  • prioritise wellbeing, nutrition and rest
  • want an active partnership with educators

Our responsibility is to protect the wellbeing, learning and emotional safety of the children in our care, and to maintain a strong, respectful community for families and educators alike.

When Values Align, Children Thrive

When families and educators share values, the results for children are powerful. Children feel secure, confident and supported. They develop strong emotional skills, social confidence and a positive sense of self.

At Believe Playschool, we are proud of the community we have built and the partnerships we share with families who’s philosophy aligns with our approach.
